Should Dearborn Heights Voters Approve a Headlee Override?

As a liberal who has never met a tax he didn’t like, Mr. Goodman is apparently more than happy to listen to Mayor Paletko’s double-speak. Unfortunately, when you do that you get less than half the story. It’s good to know that he is an equal opportunity tax promoter.

On Monday evening, my wife and I attended a Town Hall meeting at the Young Center. Mayor Paletko, the members of City Council, the City Clerk and the Treasurer were…

Snyder’s Budget Proposal

On February 17th, Governor Rick Snyder presented a proposed budget for 2011-2012 to a joint session of the state legislature. The Governor made it clear that he thought his plan was fair, but that it would require what he called shared sacrifice. Proposed spending reforms in Education, Health and Human Services, and Revenue Sharing are relatively minor, and do little to attack the continuing growth in the scope and cost of the public sector. For 2012, his spending…

Obama and the Rule of Law

Our founders established a national government grounded in the rule of law, where legal rules are made in advance, binding both government and the citizens, thus allowing the citizens to know exactly what they must do or not do to avoid running afoul of the government. They rejected a system of arbitrary rule, where the government decides how to act on an ad hoc basis, leaving decisions to the whim of whatever administrator happens…

Reflections on the August Primary

In July, I had the pleasure of attending the Stratford Ontario Shakespeare Festival. The three plays that I saw included The Tempest, Jacques Brel and Evita. The most striking of these for me was Evita. It provided me with an eerie reminder of how Juan and Eva Peron took over in Argentina. He was elected president based on his persona and her celebrity, and the appeal of their message of redistribution of wealth, especially to the labor unions.…

Payback to the Unions

Apparently "the ONE" has decided it's time for another Union payback. Has anybody thought about starting a Seniors Union? Check the link below:

Details:
Welcome members & new members!
We all should be very proud of ourselves as we are making a difference. Through our Audit the Fed & 10th Amendment Campaigns, now we have reached and important and critical period. After winding down after the month of August and September, with the massive rallies and town hall meetings held across our nation with the huge heart beat held in Washington D.C. on 9.12.9.
Now the question arises what now? With so many people that were engaged in these events we need to keep up the momentum. Through information and education, another question arises but how? If I can give you the; who, what, when, where, and how. You can help your family and friends sitting on the couch, thinking now what...
We are planning a major event with your involvement. Not to create massive signs and drive miles away, to quite simply to pay it forward to you family, friends and most importantly your community. By giving you and the people tools to create the change that this country needs instead of us sitting on the couch thinking they have no influence. Let us give them the power that this country was designed for them to have.
We want your involvement so you can follow this simple process as this can be replicated with in the entire metro Detroit area if not across the country. Let us give the people the tools and give them there voice and power back.
Create the Buzz! This is going to be awesome!
This is open to all members and non-members from all counties are encouraged to join us. RSVP would be appreciated for this is an important meeting 734.637.4720
