Our Venom Is Our Vote
Melinda, Dave, and I showed up at the GOP Fix Michigan Center last night for phone-bank training and calling. It was most instructive. Melinda made some positive contacts and I think Dave did, too. However, I made approximately 40 calls over a 2-hour period without any luck. (I’m going to avoid the cracks from the peanut gallery about there being good reasons for Melinda and Dave having more success than I. I’m just going to pretend I can’t hear what you’re thinking and I’m going to hold my head up high and proceed to make my point!)
It struck me how important every new positive contact we make is. Our greatest asset is each of these wonderful people who are willing to give of their time and money and who are willing to risk the scorn and condemnation of the Left and the loss of friendships and business to stand up and be counted for the sake of their country. Everyone who is willing to stand with us or consider joining us is a golden treasure.
When we meet or protest, let’s not just concentrate on taking our folding chairs, water bottles, and signs and making our points. Let’s be thinking, “Who can I meet today? Who can I invite to join us? Who can I find today who will aid us in our cause tomorrow?” Let’s remember to be not only protestors but also ambassadors, recruiters, and allies. Let’s remember that our ultimate success will come one new friend at a time.
