Our Venom Is Our Vote
Not endorsing - just informing - you of this event scheduled for John Walsh. My husband and I did have the pleasure of meeting John and hearing him speak. Gut instinct - good man.
That being said, I have included his voting record for you to check out. If you are in his district, I encourage you to do some research on your own and if you like what you find, please consider helping him by working on his campaign.
There will be a meeting on Thursday, May 6th from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. at Laurel Manor (located at 39000 Schoolcraft Road, Livonia, MI). The flier invites you to bring family and friends for food and fun. The event is free but contributions would be greatly appreciated.
I contacted his campaign manager to clarify the intent of the "kick-off". It is to help gather supporters and volunteers to help with lit drops, sign locations, mailings and phone calls. "We don't want to steal volunteers from other districts because we know how precious they are to all candidates, but if there are folks in Canton, Plymouth, Northville and other neighboring districts that have enough energy to help on more than one campaign, then we would love to meet them."
I hope any of you who are reading this post have been, or are going to, get involved with a candidate you have found worthy to gain the seat they are running for.
These candidates need more than "Atta boy (or girl)!" They need help going door to door, phone calls or even down to "Yes, you can put a sign in my yard."
This year politics are local. We need to get conservatives elected, folks. There has been much media attention on the Tea Parties and how they are going to effect the election this year - let's show them.
I understand money is tight (and I mean that sincerely) but it's not just money that these candidates need - it is "boots on the ground" and "mouths on the phone" (that's my line). Please get involved now - the need is great.
I am going to hear what Rep. Walsh has to say regarding his platform - hope to see some of you there.
