How can we follow a Bill in the House or Senate?

Hi Y'all (I lived in Virginia for a while),

I am going to be posting various messages and links dealing with Michigan House and Senate legislation.  To start here is a link to the MI Legislative Home Page:

In the entry box labeled "Legislative Bill Search" type in one or both (one at a time) of the bills we discussed at the meeting on Monday.  Type 333 and see the details of Senate Bill 333.  When you have all the info you need on 333 go back and type in 4693.

This is a first step in checking up on what our legislature is up to.  If you are adventurous check out the other links on the page and see what you come up with.

Attached is a list of all the bills acted on for 06/16/2011 and a "Citizens Guide" PDF that explains the legislative process and lists all of the Michigan Elected Officials and their contact info.

Hi Y'all,

More legislative is a link to a page that has a document called 2011 Public Act Table.  It has all of the House and Senate bills signed into law this year through June 9, 2011.  There are also files for previous years.

Check out what our folks in Lansing have been uo to.

Thanks for the information.  The legislation lookup site will prove useful as will the citizens guide.

Helpful for both the "watchdog" and "rapid response" efforts mentioned so often in meetings.

Is this part of a planned RWU committee or effort?  If not, it should be.  Shows good initiative and provides some "How to" approaches.
