Michigan Election Law - Voter ID

There was discussion at tonight's ( Mon 5/7/12 ) meeting regarding voter ID law in Michigan and the use of term "provisional ballot".

This is the exact language from the Michigan Secretary of State website.

"Once you sign the affidavit, you may cast your ballot. It will be counted with all other ballots on Election Day."

This four page PDF document details how a "provisional" or envelope ballot is only used in one of three possible lack of acceptable identification scenarios.

I'm looking for the actual training material provided to local clerks.  More to follow - STAY TUNED !

Michigan House Bill 5281:
There is a bill in the Michigan House that would require to check welfare recipients to see if they are citizens or not.  We need to get this bill passed into law.  This website explains it all and can also help to send an e-mail to our legislatures.
