Here is the text of my 2010 "TEA Party Rant," In Charlotte and Kellog Park. The recent scandals in the State Department, DOJ, and IRS; confirm our suspicions of a corrupt, punitive government. This is all so contrary to what America stands for.

After a disappointing election, and in the midst of a nasty internal struggle within the conservative movement; I hope these recent events serve as a rallying call to everyone concerned about the size and scope of government. My indignation had me digging through my nightstand, looking for a three year old piece of paper. I wrote this when Christian conservatives, Republicans, and Libertarians were united in a common cause. I still stand by every word.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Stay on track, Tea party, you're taking flak because you're over the target. Powerful people have arrayed themselves against you, because you refused to just go away. You come from every walk of life; but you stand here together and speak with one voice, one very powerful voice that seems to be echoing through the nooks and crannies of our great country. You believe that this nation was founded on certain principles that are timeless, and that our founding fathers provided us a tangible road map to the trials that our country would encounter; yet you feel as though a bloated, reeling out of control government has decided to throw that road map out, and you have something to say about it.

Stay on track Tea Party, you've educated and informed yourselves. You've worn out your pocket Constitutions with highlighters and folded corners; and in doing so, you've equipped yourselves with the knowledge required to begin beating back tyranny and despotism. You find truth somewhere in all the confusion.

Thomas Paine wrote in 1791:

------"Freedom had been hunted around the globe, reason was considered as rebellion; and the slavery of fear had men afraid to think. But such is the irresistible nature of truth, that all it asks, and all it wants, is the liberty of appearing.------

I believe truth is beginning to appear. I believe eyes are opening. I believe a giant is awakening. I believe that real "hope and change" starts with an informed citizenry. I believe that real "recovery" begins when responsible individuals take charge of their own destinies, and demand that their elected government stay out of their way while they do so. The time for action is right now, and you are taking action; for that, some will seek to destroy you.

Stay on track Tea Party, now is not the time to be distracted by slander and cheap shot tactics. You've faced it before, you've weathered the storm of Community organizers, of the professional, and sometimes tax payer funded organizations arrayed against you, and you refuse to go away. You refuse to not be heard. You refuse to believe a lie being force fed to you by biased media outlets and crooked bureaucracies, and by liberal professors and elitists who seek to fundamentally change America in the name of social justice, as though it hadn't already been tried so many times before.

Stay on track Tea Party, because the future of this country demands the vigilance of it's citizens. A group of Leftist Ideologues has been snatching away liberty from the people at an astonishing rate of speed. In his farewell address in 1796, George Washington speaks of, "Potent engines by which cunning, ambitious, and unprincipled men will be enabled to subvert the power of the people, and to usurp for themselves the reigns of government; destroying afterwards the very engines which have lifted them to their unjust dominion." Do you believe these forces are at work right now in America?

Stay on track Tea Party, Though they will call you Rednecks, Racists, bigots, and tea baggers. Remember that the names they call you are derogatory slurs, and that you are being profiled; and every time they hurl an insult at you they expose their own hypocrisy, by doing the very thing they claim to stand against. They will look for every opportunity to discourage and demoralize you, because it is you that stands between them and their ultimate goal. You are very sure to face an entrenched and determined foe, large amounts of money have and will be spent on lies and smear campaigns meant to undermine the credibility of your cause and render you ineffective. Take care to hold yourselves to a higher standard, to not be baited or distracted and so divided. Keep your eyes steady on the prize, which in our republic, is the ballot box.

Stay on track Tea Party, because a majority of Americans still love this Country as much as you do, and in true grassroots movements all over America, those people are finally finding an advocate and a voice. A voice that says, "We are flat out tired of wasteful government spending. We are sick of borrowing money to fund broken and fiscally irresponsible programs. We're done with deficits. We are finished apologizing to other countries for our greatness. We have a right to protect ourselves, our families and our borders. We've had enough of big, obnoxious, omniscient government trying to control what doctors we see, what cars we drive, how we invest our money, the foods we eat, the air we breathe. We are sick of the type of entitlement mentality that causes men to become slaves to whatever party cuts them the biggest check. Slavery is the opposite of freedom. We believe Washington should be setting the free market free, so instead of welfare and unemployment checks, folks could get paychecks.

Stay on track Tea Party. Stay vigilant. Remember that Americans are exceptional; because while we believe that all people on earth were created equal, we understand that the Founding Fathers provided us with a set of documents that has allowed us to ascend over the past two and a half centuries. Defend those documents, they lay out a system of government based on the consent of the governed, which is a treasure that I hope my children will enjoy, and their children will enjoy, and so on for another two and a half centuries.

The obama administration is run by obama, he makes the calls, regardless of his denials.  he has too much of an ego to let others make decisions, albiet in a clandestine manner.  his past election victories, main stream media's protection and radical liberal support have emboldened to toss away parts of the Constitution and redefine other parts of it.  the fourth ammendment has become a joke except for it's use to make abortion legal. He feels invinsible because of the people who have his back, a travesty, who had the backs of the four Americans who died, certainly not him.  where was he the following day?  in vegas giving what he does best, giving a speech full of manure. how obama ever got a security clearance is beyond me.  would sure like to know what the criteria was for his background check and who did the check. perhaps his radical associations didn't matter much. thanks for the info Denis

Tony everything you have written is on the mark and I'm sure that many of our conservative friends agree.  We know the truth about whats happening to our country, unfortunately there are many others who don't.  Most of those who disagree just don't like the Republican Party for different reasons such as "the Republicans only care for the rich and nobody else".  Or they hate GWB because he "stole" two elecections and will never vote for a Republican no matter what.  Another reason for not voting  Republican is believing talking points that are totally untue.  The list could go on and on but it will not help our cause.  What conservatives must do to be successful is to communicate to the voter in language that is easy to grasp what our goals for the common good are.  Advisors of candidates ought to listen to ideas from the common folk because they are closer to the realites of everyday living in this country.  Good advice came come from  unthought of  sources
